GrandCare
Solving the Business Problem
Modern caregiving often happens at a distance—and yet emotional connection and clear communication remain as important as ever. GrandCare’s platform makes it easy for caregivers to stay in touch with their loved ones via a central touchscreen device installed in the user’s home.
But while iPhone users already had access to the GrandCare experience through the MediKall iOS app, Android users were still tethered to desktop workflows or limited functionality. To fulfill its promise of inclusive, user-friendly care support, GrandCare needed an Android version of the app that mirrored the iOS experience and gave all users equal access to core features.
Noble's Collaboration
Having previously designed and developed the iOS version of the MediKall app, Noble was the natural choice to bring that experience to Android. GrandCare provided full access to the iOS codebase, which allowed Noble to implement feature parity and ensure consistency across both platforms.
The Android app now enables caregivers to:
- Place live video calls to the GrandCare touchscreen
- Send real-time messages that appear directly on the user’s device
- Upload photos to the GrandCare photo slideshow
The interface mirrors the navigation and functionality of the iOS app, providing a consistent user experience regardless of device type. Working closely with the GrandCare team, Noble focused on maintaining design consistency, reliable performance, and secure communication features, ensuring the Android version felt just as intuitive and powerful as its iOS counterpart.
Project Importance
The release of the MediKall Android app marks a major milestone in GrandCare’s mission to keep families connected, supported, and informed. By extending functionality to Android devices, GrandCare has eliminated platform barriers—offering a seamless, mobile caregiving experience to users of all backgrounds.
For caregivers, this means being able to check in, share a smile, or offer encouragement with a few taps. For GrandCare users, it means more frequent and meaningful connections with the people who matter most. With Noble’s help, GrandCare has strengthened its digital bridge between independence and care—one tap at a time.
