Dialysis of Drugs
Solving the Business Problem
Dialysis patients face complex medication management challenges due to altered pharmacokinetics and frequent treatment sessions. Clinicians must quickly determine whether medications are cleared by dialysis, whether doses should be adjusted, and how drug interactions might shift under these conditions. Previously, this meant referencing multiple publications or databases—time-consuming at best, risky at worst.
Dialysis of Drugs simplifies this process, offering instant access to up-to-date drug clearance data with a few taps. But to maintain this level of clinical utility and meet the demands of current mobile users, the app needed updates: both technical and content-based. Issues with code deprecation and outdated data blocked further updates—especially on iOS—leaving healthcare teams without access to the most current resources.
Noble's Collaboration
Noble partnered with SilverLine Digital and Renal Pharmacy Consultants to resolve both technical and data-related blockers, ensuring the Dialysis of Drugs app remained a reliable tool for patient care. Key updates included:
- Resolving iOS code deprecation issues to meet Apple’s updated submission requirements
- Updating “Coupon Code” labels to “Access Code” for clarity
- Refreshing splash screens and background graphics with provided assets
- Uploading the latest drug dataset and formatting it for seamless integration
- Inserting an abbreviated key for drug classifications above the search results
- Updating copyright information throughout
The iOS version was prioritized to restore availability in the App Store, followed by Android updates. Noble worked within the existing codebase to minimize disruption, address server-side changes, and streamline the update process without altering core layout structures. This ensured continuity for users while unlocking access to updated content and enhanced usability.
Project Importance
When it comes to dialysis care, timely, accurate information is non-negotiable. The Dialysis of Drugs app empowers healthcare professionals with the confidence and clarity they need to make fast, informed decisions on behalf of vulnerable patients.
By helping bring the app back into compliance and aligning it with modern technical standards, Noble ensured this critical clinical tool remains active and accessible for the providers who rely on it every day. It’s a small update with a big impact—preserving a vital connection between evidence-based medicine and real-time patient care.
