Madison Area Music Association (MAMA)
The Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) has long been a cornerstone of its local music community, supporting young musicians through scholarships, instrument donations, and outreach programs. But its digital presence wasn’t keeping pace — making it difficult for people to understand its impact or find clear ways to get involved.
We partnered with MAMA to reimagine its website as a modern, mission-driven platform — one that clearly tells its story and makes it effortless for the community to engage, support, and participate.
Solving the Business Problem
MAMA had a long history of impact in the Madison music community, but its web presence wasn’t keeping pace with its mission. The site was underused, difficult to navigate, and didn’t clearly communicate how people could get involved. Key programs — scholarships, MAMA Cares, instrument donations, sponsorships, and event participation — were hidden behind outdated structure and unclear pathways.
The challenge was twofold:
- Clarify the mission and the work so the community immediately understands what MAMA does and why it matters.
- Make engagement effortless — donating, sponsoring, attending events, applying for scholarships, and supporting young musicians needed to be intuitive, visible, and frictionless.
The new themamas.org transforms all of that. It gives MAMA a modern, mission‑forward platform that finally reflects the scale of its work and makes it easy for the community to show up, contribute, and stay connected.
Collaboration
Our work with MAMA was rooted in deep discovery and genuine partnership. We spent time understanding the organization’s history, its programs, and the emotional core of its mission: ensuring every young musician has access to instruments, support, and opportunity.
From there, we built:
- User stories and clear engagement pathways for donors, sponsors, educators, families, and musicians
- A clean, accessible design system that elevates MAMA’s identity and makes information easy to find
- A structured content strategy that highlights programs, events, and impact
- Donation and sponsorship flows that reduce friction and increase conversions
- A flexible, update‑friendly platform so the board can publish news, events, and community updates without technical overhead
And the collaboration didn’t stop at launch. We continue to support MAMA with strategic guidance, analytics reviews, and iterative improvements based on real‑world usage and community feedback.
