What is React?
React is a Javascript library built by a team of developers at Facebook in 2014, and it’s used for building user interfaces and web applications! It’s not only what makes your applications pretty, it’s what makes them functional. Using React alone, you have the potential to create applications that respond to user input, change state, and more.
With React, you can create something called a View. When you create a View, you’re creating what the application looks like before or after you’ve done something to it. You can create a view for the application when it’s loading, after you’ve clicked something, or even after a certain period of time in which you’ve been inactive.
React also depends upon things called Components. Components are visual pieces of React code that have views within them. You can build simple components that can take input data and render it, or you can have a stateful component that changes state after you interact with it. Either way, components are the building blocks of what makes React one of the most popular programming languages.
Who uses React?
While anyone can use React to build web applications, it is mainly used by developers who work on the front end of things. Why use React?
Lots of developers choose to use React for many reasons. Some might like it, or may have started with it because it seemed like an attractive language to learn at the time. Others may use React because their company requires them to learn how to use it. Most of the time, though, it’s all a matter of what language is best to do the job. Whether it be Vue, React, Angular, or just Vanilla JS, React is a language that will continue to have a growing community and support system.
